thank you everyone for the awesome advice and rsskylight04 its fine lol ive given some bad advice before but it happens to everyone at least one :)

i really hope to get a good camera soon and really show off what the tank is becoming bc my plants look good an my crypts even came back from my disastrous break out of algae and the slime monster or whatever you want to call that lol (referring to what happened with the wood) but it looks good and im even getting some hair grass come back?! idk how well it will do but i was pretty sure it all died and then looked today and sure enough i some cute little grass growing in a few spots :)

now i have some sad news... one of my otos died and idk why but on the bright side im 97% sure it was not from disease that will effect my tank

and yall im sorry this thread is kinda boring and not full of amazing pictures but thank you again for helping me with everything and giving support and compliments i really appreciate it :)

Penny, I can't wait for that camera! Until then, I'll live without pics - it'll be hard. . . ~.^
Glad to hear your plants are rebounding, and things are looking good!!!
So sorry to hear about your oto. . . maybe with the algae under control he wasn't getting enough to eat? :( Poor little guy. . .

RS! I'm so sorry to hear that your good 'shark' went bad. :/
I hope everything settles down for you soon, too. . .

I'm no expert, either. . . from what I DO know about the fish you have, and GBR, I'm *guessing* that you could run into issues with water temperature - possibly other things as well, but take that with a grain of salt, because I'm really not sure. Giving stocking advice makes me nervous, I'm always afraid to lead someone wrong!

I've found AQAdvisor to be an excellent resource to begin research on stocking. Give it a try, if you haven't already, and let us know what it says! Can't wait to see this pretty tank grow!

wow that's a pretty catfish…what is he ?

So the wood is fake? Very effective if it is, must admit. I would not really have guessed if you had not said and I a m still looking at it thinking is that the piece you are on about. Looks a bit grey but then you get grey driftwood. Please put me out of my misery and tell me if it is or isn't :). Like the cave, what is that made from? Sorry about all the questions but I'm liking this setup ... You know I like my natural looking ;-)

yes my wood log is fake lol im happy with the piece all though i would be happier with a real log just to add to the natural-ness of the tank. the rock cave i believe is lava rock but i cant be sure. it was a piece my dad had in his tanks when i was younger and ive always loved it lol

i have fully stocked the tank and its kinda cool and not something you see everyday
4x platy
2x neon tetras
2x S.A. bumblebee catfish
1x powder blue drawf gourami
1x hm betta male

the tank sits at 74f which is comfortable for all the fish and they ALL get along abnormally well
