it's a marine sanctuary in langkawi called Pulau Payar. they don't allow any fresh water on the island but they do allow 100 people a day to visit it and that means 100 oily greasy bodies full of sunscreen lotion and that makes a whole lot of gunk if you ask me. too much chemicals and gunk are causing it to bleach. the black tip was over 5 feet and in the last pic is a huge old barracuda chasing a 5 foot or more black tip.
it was sleeping under the platform and i took a pic, the flash went off and it started to move and i totally froze in fear. din't know whether to swim away or just stay put.i thought i don't wanna be lunch and so i froze. not sure whether that was stupid but anyhow he swam away.

yea, i wouldnt have worried to much about a reef shark, but a mako, or great white and im jumping out of the water lol.

the problem with corals is, theyre on their way out in the wild. they say another 10-20 years and the reefs will be gone. to me, thats a shame. heat is one of the factors, pollution another and believe it or not, carbon dioxide levels according to this article http://www.enn.com/top_stories/article/40175 i thought i had more links to support my claim, but its true.. and its happening. im sure a google search about corals dying in the wild would provide some hard facts.

and im looking forward to your next trip

i'm very much aware of that.i joined the wwf a few years back and i do a little home work on the local eco system and stuff nothing fancy just a hobby of mine. if you think only mako and great whites are bad see this.it was taken at pulau payar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TTABF0gGkw

i know barracudas can be nasty.. and theyre esp. attracted to anything shiny...

a moray eel is a scary thing too.. they have 2 sets of mouths. one to grab ahold of you and hold on and then another comes up from inside to tear your flesh. or how about a bite from a sea snake.
or how about octupi which there are youtube videos of them killing a shark, attacking divers and so on. they are very very smart too.

thats what i thought.some of his other post are just as out of context too. i wonder where he is from lol

#40 ·
LOL Yeah I agree I saw the other post were he said green water was good for the fish and I was like ok either hes from another country or a troll trying to cause problems. Hopefully he will stay around and we can help him see that green water is not good for the fish.
