Catfish with neon lighting

Would it be safe for my bristlenose catfish to have a red neon light in the evening so i can observe them.. if so would having an LED neon pose any problems.. id just like to know how i can view them at night .. ps the question mark on my keyboard isn't working atm.

I am using moonlights on many of my tanks. It gives an interesting effect. They are on timers the also have the main tank lights connected to the timers. I am using insta-start lights on the main lighting. Here is a link:

i use this, pretty cheap, but works very well and is completely submersible. i use it on top of my glass canopy so it diffuses the light alittle.

go on ebay and search aquarium led. it should be one of the first things you come across. the seller id is measure explorer. this guy is awesome. sends things things out fast, shipping said up to 7 days or more, got to my house in 2!
