Question How to tell if turtle shell is healthy?

So I have done my research, but I really dont feel like I am in any better of a position to make an informed decision on whether my turtles shell is healthy.

I have uploaded a few images...

...of the turtle from different angles.

he/she is a "dwarf musk turtle" (as advertised at the LFS), but I am assuming it is a common musk turtle, that may or may not have been selectively breed to be small...

Anyway, I have read that over feeding turtles (or at least giving them to much protein) causes them to develop prymidiing on their shells, but razor backs have this naturally, well at least they all look like that. you can see that my turtle has these shapes on his shell, and I have never seen this before on any other musk.

In general, I would really like if someone could take a look at the pics and comment on the health of his/her shell. I have not had him/her long, and he/she is still young.

Thanks,

My advice would be to talk with a. veterinary doctor who is knowledgeable about this type of animal.

Where I live, turtles as pets.is not legal. If this is true to a lot of countries, you might not get much help here.

I hope you can find a vet to.help you.

Please post again and let us know how it goes.

Good luck to you!
