thanks guys :-D
so glad you're on the mend, and managing to potter around,
and feel free to barge in anytime and tell more about what you're doing!

i have some clown loach behaviour going on and i'm not sure what's
happening...my biggest is sort of swimming around and being followed
by a much smaller one, which shimmys against the bigger one, then they diss
apear under the rocks.....i guess i'm not used to seeing them any more,as they hide
so much, the last time i kept loaches,i was used to goofy behaviour and the
playing dead...this is new to me.

nitRate won't go down :-(
there is no ammonia according to liquid test kit,
tiny amount of nitrIte.
is planting disturbing the tank too much,?
admittedly i've not stirred the substrate as much as i should, and now planting
i'm guessing it's kind of my fault,however......i've done around 50-60%
water change this week, and going to do another change of around 20%
today.

No clue. But it sounds like your cycle is about finished.
What's your nitrate at? I like to keep mine between 10 and 20ppm. It won't go any lower than 10ppm anyhow. Haha

aww thanks mate. :-D fish seem to really like the plants, and although
in that picture there appears not to be any fish lol there is.
i have since bought some platys for a splash of colour, male and female fully
knowing that there will be fry,and i am shamefully
going to admit i have gone against the fish keepers code and i have made an
impulse purchase of  a couple of jewel cichlids.
i also have incresed the number of zebra danios.
