My kids are sooo devious! I arrive home to finish out my workday here and there is a delivery of shrimp that I did not order. I thought maybe a double order from waay back. Nope. Called the company and found out when it was ordered...it was when I know my son had been on my computer. So mad!(and impressed.. he is 8!)
So more to the question I can only think of one safe aquarium in my house where they will most likely survive. Its the kids 16g and already has 3 male guppies 2 glo danios and two orange eyed blue tiger shrimp. Here is what my son(most likely daughter too lol) ordered 15 red cherry shrimp 10 blue velvet shrimp and 10yellow shrimp. Can 16 gallons handle all that much. I don't want to put back together any of my spare tanks... because ... well hell this wasn't even my plan. And all of my oter tanks are full of shrimp murderers
This is how the kids set up their 16g

possible..??:hmm:

Wow. It sounds like you have to try it. If they breed, those fish will eat the fry, but sounds like you have plenty of shrimp to take care of you for awhile. :p

I know.. Hell I can't handle more shrimp then that anyway... well I could but like I said I want to leave my qt tanks up and away. And seriously had the kids asked me to I would have got them more shrimp.. just NOT THAT MANY.
I did mess with the kids when I got them from school however. I told them a mysterious shipment of shrimp showed up so I fed them to the Angel fish..lol. My daughter started to cry and my son was like" but WHY?? " haha. Needless to say they were happy to see them in their tank. I'm just worried about it turning into a poop fest as they get bigger. My kids are 80% responsible for that tanks care and they keep in super clean but I worry this may complicate that.:|

Count your blessings... they've coulda' ordered a pair of 12 inch plus South American Cichlids!!! :)

Sounds like your kids are fascinated by shrimp..... go ahead and get a new tank ready for your newly acquired friends and since the species they've purchased might interbreed you will probably need 2-3 new tanks.

I suppose the other option is to offer them up for sale to members of your local fish club, in my club shrimp seem to sell quickly.... but then again, you'd be preventing the fostering of knowledge from your children if you sell them :)
