I am wanting to add some more live plants to my 55 gallon aquarium, but the pet stores I have around me dont carry a whole lot, and the ones they do, they charge a rediculous price. Is there a web site or something I can order live plants from?! Thank you!

aquariumplants.com is where i got mine from and it was a wonderful experience. got one day shipping for the price of 2nd day everything came looking beautiful and all is well.
Thank you! Would you happen to know what are some good hardy live plants to add?
Anubias are very hardy plants. Also Java Fern and Amazon Sword, Argentinian Sword, Moneywort.
Do you know how much your shipping was?
Oh thank you! Thats a good list to choose from!
shipping is expensive. like 45 dollars. another good plant(s) dwarf water lettuce for some floating plants, and jungle val.

Holy crap! Was that the cost of the entire order? Or just the shipping? I don't think I've ever paid over $7.50 to have plants shipped.

Fellow hobbyists are the best for getting live plants. Check around on Classifieds. Shipping is usually just $7 and the plants are generally cheap and better quality then stores. Hardy plants are Anubias, Java fern, Java Moss, Sword plants, and some crypts can be but those can be picky sometimes. Floating plants are a good choice as well like Water Sprite, duckweed (even it spreads like a wild fire!), if you don't have much water movement on the surface Frogbit and dwarf water lettuce can do well.
and thats on the cheap side i think..cause I went onto that website and did the shipping estimator, and it was telling me $95 for shipping!

That's completely insane! Like seriously! I'v had fish shipped from the west coast to the east coast overnight and it only cost me half of that. Plants are almost always fine with priority shipping. Only had a few kinds that arrived as mush and those were more delicate stems.

The best place is to find your local aquatics club on the internet. Buy some from a member and meet them somewhere, or at their next meeting.

Even if you have to drive an hour or two, the prices usually work out to 75% off retail.
