This was a bit of a challenge. I'm going to hazard a guess that they are some kind of ghost shrimp (Palaemonetes spp). They almost look like sulawesi shrimps or some other kind of ornamental shrimp, but if you bought them for cheap, they aren't likely ornamental shrimp. Those typically run $1+ for a single shrimp.

If i'm not mistaken,maybe this are Amano shrimps..They are usually used in an aquarium because they feed primarily on algae, thus cleaning the aquarium if in large numbers.
