We have had our tank set up for about six months and recently added a few more live plants to the ones we already had and since then I've noticed some white spots growing on all the plants and today noticed a big fuzz ball floating in the water. Could anyone tell me what this is or why it's happened, is it dangerous to the fish, how do I get rid of it?

it is probably moldyu food i had that problem one time i did a water change and it was pretty much gone :-D

The pictures are helpful. I'm inclined to agree that it is uneaten food. e.g. uneaten beef heart bits will do that too.

What do you have in the way of scavengers in this tank? How often are you feeding?

Thank you everyone I did a water change and added a couple of emerald cory's to the tank and have not seen any problems since!
