Stocking is way more art than science. That being said, there is a website called aqadvisor that is a stocking calculator. It's pretty conservative in its estimates, but that's good for beginners and anyone else using the site. You can go play around with it and see what filtration needs different stocks have, as well as water change schedules. NOW, don't take the results as gospel. That just provides a starting point for you, not a final product. It's always best to talk to people who keep the fish you are interested in to get your list dialed in.
