Depending on how contaminated your water supply is you could use a chemical water treatment... Even-though r/o is awesome...

if i have a fowlr tank do i have to get r/o water to start or can i use tap water...will the copper in the pipes hurt my live rock? and if it will what are some cheap alternatives to r/o water
