Currently eight counties in West Virginia have been reported to have CONTAMINATED TAP WATER due to a chemical leak in the river. Citizens in West Virginia are cautioned to refrain from using tap water for drinking (even if boiled), bathing, cooking, etc.
This chemical can cause severe ill effects in humans. I have not been able to find information on how this chemical affects fish/wildlife, but I assume that it isn't healthy and could cause issues. Citizens with aquariums may want to refrain from the weekly water change or use bottled water instead, to be safe.
BE SAFE.
