Just remember the pumpkin and the red cherries will cross bread to produce and ugly mutt. If I remember correctly the babies are the wild type colour, but I honestly can't remember for certain.
Anyway, if you want to keep your lines pure and your shrimp looking the best, I suggest splitting a tank in half with glass and silicone or just getting two seperate tanks.

Sorry should have been more clear I have a tank of Cherry shrimp and a tank of Pumpkin shrimp. Both are starting to fill up and I will setting up new tanks for each group so they are not mixed.

My new rack allows for 3 new tanks so I will have a extra tank, maybe pick up another shrimp so I have 3 different colors.

I forgot to tell you guys and gals I was at the LFS over the weekend and they had a adult convict cichlid that was traded in. You can tell he has had a rough life and was stressed so I brought him home and he is currently in a 55g tank alone. After his quarantine time and he is at full strength I will give him some tank mates, not sure who yet but I'm thinking some peaceful fish.

Picked up more fish this week. A local fish keeper needed to make room so he unloaded his african cichlid to me.

I got
1 Dimidiochromis compressicpes Malawi Eye biter
1 Taiwan Reef
Pair of Rusty (male and female)
7 Red shoulder Peacocks (6 male and 1 female) these are raised in his tank so I will need to get a few more females
All the fish are 2"-4" so still pretty young.

Got all 11 fish for $40 so I'm pretty happy. I'm going to put the pair of rusty in their own tank and pick the best male from the red shoulders and put with the female. Hope to get those guys to pair up and produce some fry. I will pull the fry and grow them out with hopes of getting more pairs.

The Eye biter wasn't really on my list of fish I wanted but I will give him a good home and see how he does with everyone.
