do you buy off Ebay? i bought 6 of these a while back from this seller and they are doing fine other than the suction cup not staying stuck to the tank but to me thats no big deal. i kept a regular thermometer in the tank for a couple of weeks when i first put the new one in and they all stayed the same.
I have 2 of those same digital thermometers. I got them from Petsmart for about $8 or $9 each. But I found them to be a couple degrees off so I went back to the old standard glass thermometer. I agree they're much easier to read though.
My advice is to not bother with the Coralife model. Even though mine calibrated properly it still was off by several degrees in my normal operating range. It's also too sensitive, constantly bouncing around. If you're going to get a digital I'd spend the extra cash and get a nicer one. The Coralife one is junk in my opinion.
just picking up my thermometer makes the screen go wild. i had a controller laying around that i hooked up recently. constantly reads pH and temp and prob. doesnt get much more accurate then that.you can even plug your heater into it and it keeps it at that temp. im not saying invest this much for a thermometer but its an option. i want to say they have larger size glass thermoms that have bigger numbers on them but im not sure.
so I've done a filter change today..exactly the same as normal.
I've come home and my water is cloudy and my fish are all swimming at the top.

I'm trying to get the fishless cycle right on a new tank, but I've run in to one or two problems.
I'm using the fish food method as a source of ammonia, but I'm five days in and seeing relatively low levels of ammonia (0.25ppm rising to 0.5ppm today). I've been testing daily and adding...
