40 gallon planted tank been up 8 months only has 6 corys. I added 5 white skirt tetra, one died in about 48 hours figure it didn't do well with the transfer. Of the other four, three hung together the last one kept to him self hiding and I quickly noticed he wasnt eatting. After almost to weeks he was looking thin, and one afternoon found him stuck to the filter intake. Now down to three of the tetras two are hanging out and once again one is keeping separate and hiding once again not seeming to eat. Any thoughts on what caused this one to take the others place? I dont want to keep having one a hungry stike and dieing.

change food?? Brine shrimp are my go to when I have finicky eaters...flakes crushed is another...blood worms....
do you have a tank...even a fishbowl with a heater...put him separate and see if you can turn him around. That would solve a bully problem if that is the problem......worth a try

So i pulled out one that seemed aggressive. 12 hours later he still really isnt coming out and didn't eat last night. I have tried both flake and blood worms. I will try a little longer then might take the scared one out and put the other back and see what happens.

You'll probably need to get a larger school of them in the future, or just go with a different type of tetra. I love the rummy nose, great behavior and peaceful together. I have 5 penguin tetras in an 80gal community planted tank and they still spar and bully. The tall plants are the only reason it works out okay.
