Hi everyone well another tank to the collection this is the sixth one and the las one I would set up in this apartment ( I want a fish room)
Little story about this tank I got it from a co-worker his son's goldfish passed away after 5 years I guess the kid was dedicated so didn't want it anymore so this guy offered it to me and I couldn't say no t

This is what I got
Aquarium Table Glass Coffee table Plant

So I cleaned
Aquarium Glass Table

And painted the background

Aquarium Netbook

Table Furniture Room Wood Mat

So far I think I know what I want am but plans can always change the biggest dilema has been fish I have two different options but none is easy to find locally

If anyone is reading this what would you put in there :)

Thank you sandy I'm trying to get everything ready before adding fish I want this to be a good home

Willow you should try the background painted looks awesome and about fish I started a thread asking for some ideas I would like a mixture but let's be honest 10 gallons are not such a big room to have a lot of fish the two ideas I liked are a bunch pf pearl gourami or rainbow fish I think the blue I don't remember the name but they don't grow that big. Do you have an idea to share?

sorry carlos.do not think the pearls or rainbows will work in a 10.they just get too big. how about some celestial pearl danios and some kind of micro rasbora?these guys are really small and would look nice in a 10 gallon.

Since I haven't seen them locally I haven't actually research on how much they grow the gourami was recommend by jaysee he said that particular would do good but again I haven't seen them in the city I spent my whole day yesterday visiting different fish stores in the city and they don have them but well im still considering options something for sure red cherry shrimp so need something that won't eat them :)

Agreed, no pearls or rainbows in a 10. If I had suggested the gouramis for a 10 it was a huge oversight on my part. There are some species of blue eye rainbows that stay about an inch long that would work in a 10. If you can find them.

Nice paint job. I always wanted to do that, but just never have. I think out of fear of messing it up and having it look streaky.

I think almost any fish with eat shrimp, even if it's just some of the babies. Some are just more shrimp safe than others.

What kind of water do you have?

Thanks is not a hard thing to do the secret it's one layer at the time Do one thin layer let it dry then do a second if you did the first vertical next is horizontal and you'll be filling all the spots if you have a backyard or somewhere else outside to do it do it outside ( girlfriend almost killed me when she saw I was in the dinning table :) ) but it was cold outside and that won't let it dry

About water I think you're talking about what type of water will be so it will be tropical fresh water :)

Texas gets cold?

Sorry, my fault for not being more clear. I meant pH and hardness of your tap water. I know plenty of fish you could use for a 10 gallon community, sure others on here be able to add to it.

most leds work for low light plants.it is when you get into the medium light-high light that you need to worry about the color temp etc.
The I guess I'll go into the fluorescent cause the African green hygro is the kind of plant that the stronger the lights the more colorful it gets red root floaters too i have two single bulbs lights that I use for my 2.5 gallons I'll try to get a double bulb light if I can't the I'll go for what I have

This weekend im getting substrate and may fill it up as well so I can start cycling process I want to add a decoration but haven't find anything I wanted a Buddha to place close to the tree looking driftwood but not sure yet I'll make it a red cherry shrimp tank and I see if I can add a betta without risking shrimp not any betta I want a white half moon so it will look awesome in that black background

Does anyone have any experience with sponge filters in a 10 gallons ? I started to consider it to avoid a lot of movementshrimp got get sucked by filter
