Hey, i put some new fish in my 25g tank today. Tank had only a full grown synodontis eupterus.

I added today 3 guppies (one male two females), a mystery snail and an amano shrimp (those 2 for eating algae).

The amano shrimp walked around a bit and when synodontis came close to her she went and hide and hasnt been out for some hours... Is he gonna eat her?
Also is the mystery snail and amano shrimp gonna be enough for algae eating? If not what do you suggest?

Im thinking of adding 3 more guppy (1 male 2 female) and 6 neons (for middle dwelling). What fish do you suggest i should add for it to be peaceful and how many fish i could add?

Thanks for answers in advance

after adding new fish,it would be best to wait a bit for your bacterial colony to catch up. if you added a breeding group of guppies, there is no reason to add more. you should have some fry soon.unless you are looking for other color strains. cardinal tetras are hardier than neons.you may want to look into some of these.

If you are having lots of algae, the best thing to do is to reduce light in or on the tank. Small amounts is normal.

On the maximum amount of fish per tank, I would start with 1" of fish per gallon of water or .5" per gallon for tall fish. This calculation assumes that you are changing 100% of the water in a months time, have no live plants and are feeding correctly (no uneaten food in the tank). Use the fishes maximum length unless you have multiple tanks or plans for additional tanks to move fish out as they grow. IME this is works for most tanks. The only way to know for sure is to test your water to see if there is a build up on nitrate. If there is a build up of nitrate, you have to remove some fish or increase water changes to prevent toxic levels to build up.

6 guppies, 6 neon tetras and the Synodontis would put you at the stock level. Not much room in the tank for the Synodontis. I gave away mine that I had in a 30" long tank . I got him at <1".
