I have a 50 gallon freshwater tank, set up since January. Did my water exchange today and am now seeing 1/2 inch long white, very thin worms all over my tank. Have never had this problem before. Any help or advise would be most appreciated!!
White worms are probably planaria. They are harmless and can be eaten by the fish. This is the cause of overfeeding or overpopulation.
Pls minimize feeding to once a day. Your fish will live without too much food.
What are your fish? Pls let us know and we can sort it out.
In my 50 gallon tank I have approximately 30 Black Mollies that are about 3 1/2 months old, 12 swordtails, 1 large plecostomus, 1 cory cat, a striped loach, and a frog. The tank is also filling out nicely with live plants.
I feed them twice a day - occationally others give them a third feeding.
