I had three female swordtails and one kept trying to eat but spat the food out and a few days later it died. And now one of the other females is doing the same thing!

Can someone please help!

Sorry to hear about your fish. In order to help, we're going to need a lot more info. Answer as many of these questions as you can please.

1. Size of tank?

2. Water parameters
a. Ammonia?
b. Nitrite?
c. Nitrate?
d. pH, KH and GH?
e. Test kit?

3. Temperature?

4. FW (fresh water) or BW (brackish)?

5. How long the aquarium has been set up?

6. What fish do you have? How many are in your tank? How big are they? How long have you had them?

7. Were the fish placed under quarantine period (minus the first batch from the point wherein the tank is ready to accommodate the inhabitants)?

8. a. Any live plants? Fake plants?
b. Sand, gravel, barebottom?
c. Rocks, woods, fancy decors? Any hollow decors?

9. a. Filtration?
b. Heater?

10. a. Lighting schedule? What lights are used?
b. Any sunlight exposure? How long?

11. a. Water change schedule?
b. Volume of water changed?
c. Well water, tap water, RO water?
d. Water conditioner used?
e. Frequency of gravel/sand (if any) vacuumed?

12. Foods?
How often are they fed?

13. a. Any abnormal signs/symptoms?
b. Appearance of poop?
c. Appearance of gills?

14. a. Have you treated your fish ahead of diagnosis?
b. What meds were used?

15. Insert photos of fish in question and full tank shot if necessary.

A long long time with guppies
But I replace a lot of the water and added new rocks and put the guppies back in a left them a week and they were ok. Then a added swordtails and that's when the problem occurred.

I have guppies of all sizes one little bristle-nose and I had three female swords and two males but one female dies and I don't know if I should get anymore at the moment.

Live plants

Big decoration with cave like bits

Yes filtration
b. Heater?
Yes 24'c

Lighting is used in the mornings and afternoons
b. Any sunlight exposure? How long?
Non-direct sunlight most of the day

11. Well water, tap water, RO water?
Aged filtered water from tap
12. Foods?
Tropical flakes and veggies for bristle-nose
How often are they fed?
In the morning and late afternoons.
a. Any abnormal signs/symptoms?
Trying to eat then spitting it out
b. Appearance of poop?normal to me
c. Appearance of gills?redish pink

14. a. Have you treated your fish ahead of diagnosis?
b. What meds were used?
White spot removed, but water has been filtered by carbon filter so probs not in the water anymore
15. Insert photos of fish in question and full tank shot if necessary.
