So I am starting a new thread here because my former plan to get a 10 gal office aquarium has morphed into the purchase of a 36 gallon bowfront! I was super excited at first, but I honestly can't decide what to put in the 36 that is different from what I already have. I don't want anything that is in my signature in the 36- hoping for a totally different mix. I LOVE my current tank and can't think of a new mix of fish that excites me as much. Open to peaceful or semi-aggressive communities. Really want something pretty and unusual, with nice movement, color, and different shapes.
Here are ideas I have, but have not come up with any real set plan yet. Fish I like and would consider include:
-rosy barbs, odessa barbs, cherry barbs, black ruby barbs
-dwarf gourami, moonlight gourami, opaline gourami, gold gourami, blue gourami
-diamond tetras, rummynose tetras
-kribs, apistos, maybe rams but I worry they are too delicate and won't like my water.
-turquoise rainbowfish, other rainbows
-angels
-killifish
My water is hard, and alkaline. This tank will be in my office, and needs to be pleasant for clients to look at and the fish can't be too tiny or too mean. They will either fast on the weekends or I will buy an automatic feeder. can't to live or frozen food at work. I don't want to need to do water changes more than every other week at work, so light stocking is the plan.
Any other ideas??? I want to do something really cool and unique but I am at a loss.
