Hey all! I just found a cheap 15 gall with all the amenities for cheap on craigslist, so I want to get that up and started as soon as possible! I've had lots of fishtanks before, but I never really had a plan going into them. This time I want to make a good stocking list, so I know what kind of set-up I need. It's going to be a low tech Walstad tank, hopefully heavily planted. I want a good balance of colors and activity (Who doesn't though?) These are the possible options I'm thinking of, please help me edit them out how you see fit!

Option 1:
1 Blue Male betta
2 Sunset Platy
6 Cardinal Tetra
3 Panda Cory

Option 2:
5 Licorice Gourami
3 Chocolate Gourami
2 yellow platies
(A bottom feeder of some sort?)

Open the all fish ideas but these are just some i'd love to have! I also have pygmy cories regularly available!

How did this stocking go? Both stocking options seem rather heavy. I have a planted 15gal with two Rams and three Corys and it looks rather crowded. Going to move them to a planted 29gal and fill the 15gal with a school of smaller fish; perhaps 5 tetras and a pleco or other catfish.

Yikes, bad option 2 is a really bad idea. The anabanoids will ripe each other to shreds and the two types don't really belong together in one environment. Chocolite Gouramis are very tricky to work with and a 15gal is not big enough for three unless heavy planted with the compete surface covered. P.M. me if you want advice or ideas.
