I have had the Marineland Halfmoon 10 gallon tank for a month and a half now stocked with one halfmoon Male betta and 2 peppered cories. Is there any other fish I can add? Should I add two more cory cats or is that overstocking?

corys do prefer larger groups so safest bet would be another couple peppered corys. How is your betta doing with them so far? Any nipping or are they leaving each other alone?

At first when I put them together he flared at them but he was probably just marking his territory type of thing. That was the first day. It's been a month now and he doesn't even acknowledge their presence haha. I play with him a lot he's a very active playful fish.

The half moon tank has a very small footprint - really not big enough for your corys. i would not advise getting more. I don;t think that that tank is good for making a "community" tank.

It's extremely common to hear that. Almost all your stocking guidelines talk about tank requirements in terms of gallons, which are irrelevant. The number of gallons are unimportant - it's all about the dimensions of the tank.

It's never too late to upgrade! My betta and cories started in a (standard)10g and when I saw it going well I upgraded first to my spare 20g and now they are happily in a 55 which gave me more room for a nice large group of cories.

Yes that's what I'm thinking on doing. As soon as I feel as though I am getting a hang of fish keeping I will definitely start looking at new aquariums.

Nice looking tank.. once you get your handle on fish keeping and are ready for an upgrade that tank could serve a a nice QT tank. I'm sure there wil be great sales with the holidays coming. I'd grab a bigger tank with more floor space if you see a great sale even if just to hold onto it till you're ready.
