I have Long-fined and regular zebra danios... i looked up how to tell if they are male and female but i still cant tell. i'm going to try to get some pictures but is there any other way to tell if they are male or female? and another thing is in breeding wise does it matter if they are long finned or regular?

The males are thinner and more sleek looking, and I found that my males had slightly more brown in them than the females.

Well lighting will bring out their color better, and the switch from light to dark in the morning triggers breeding, from my research.

I don't see why long fin and regular won't breed together. If my research is correct, they are just variations from selected breeding anyway. If you plan to sell them, keeping the two seperate and breeding them is prefered just for the sake of pure strains. If you don't want to sell them then have at it and you might get some cool crosses.
