So i got my Sunsun 304b all sorted out with media and everything is running well. I have my spray bar facing the side of the tank. As shown in the picture. I am wondering though if I should have it down the length of the tank instead, or not have the bar at all.

Oh that is a breeding net that i thought i would try out but I am just going to setup a small tank for that instead.

I'm having the same dilemma, I'm setting up the customflo system which allows me to setup 2 spray bars. The spray bars included in the lit are 18" long. My tank is 30 X 12. I think I want one bar along the back (30") and one bar along the side (12"). The one in the back facing the front of the tank and the side one facing across the length of the tank. I think that the back one would be angled so as to slightly disturb the surface of the water helping the CO2 exchange and the one on the side facing angled downward slightly toward the bottom of the tank.

Obviously the side bar would have to be cut so that it will fit horizontally or should I not cut it and angle the bar diagonally across the side of the tank. The negative I see is a strange flow pattern in the tank if I do this. Also, since the tank is 30" long the one in the back will have a strange flow pattern. Either centering the bar will cause the water to swirl back on the ends or if the bar is off center the water will swirl around the tank which will be enhanced by the side bar. At this point I'm stumped, I guess I'll have to try the centered back bar since that will not require the bars to be altered and see what happens. I may be over thinking the whole situation as I usually do.:dunno:
