New to forum - hi! I had great success in the past with betas and black moors but now I'm trying something new. I've got a newly cycled tank - fishless. I've just stocked with BleedingHeart Tetras (3) and Neons (2). I know the Neons are kind of fragile for a new tank, but I wanted to try something other than Danios. Tank seemed to cycle fine, see readings below. Any suggestions?

10 ga
Nitrates 20
Nitrites - 0
Hardness - 120
Total Alk - 120
Ph - 7.2
Ammonia - 0
3 BH Tetras, 2 Neons

This is weird. You said your tank is still cycling and you have zero ammonia and nitrites with detectable nitrates.:squint:

He said it was a (newly cycled tank) he did not say it was still cycling
And as for the neons they will be fine in you newly cycled tank i cycled my tank with neons and they survived-in your face flattrack23(neon tetra's are not hardy enough to cycle a tank at all. If they are in there now than I'm sorry but expect them to die) :p
Oh ya back on topic your nitrates are 20 whens the last time you did a parctial water change?

Trreherd, do not assume too fast that fish will thrive well. Some will, some will not.:)
