so i had water around the bottom of my tank tuesday so was worried it was a leak but it was gone the next day so thought maybe it was just water that had got spilled during water changes coming out from under the tank and it was dry around it no water till today like 5 days later now theres water around it again so im just confused.

also it was kinda hot outside yesterday and my tank got up to 86 degrees today it has cooled off a bit now my tank is at 82 degrees is this ok and im a bit worried about what it will be during summer since its only spring and was only like 80 something outside yesterday and during summer it will get in the 90s outside some days.

If you have a heater in your tank, turn it down a few degrees. I wouldn't let my temp swing like that, especially so high. I have my heater on 72 and it's keeping it around 78-79 with it being around 85 outside.

i do have a heater but its not adjustable its all automatic and any idea about the water all around the bottom of my tank

so now my mom thinks its cause i fill it "to full" i filled it to the black trim thing so you cant see the water line like my paper says to but she is the reason i asked on here how full you fill them lol cause she dont think your suppose to fill them that full. My sister thinks it is a leak but im not convinced since it did it then was fine for 4 or 5 days then started again i dont understand how a leak could stop for that long then just start up again.

I fill mine to the black rim, I don't like waterlines either. Maybe your filter is spilling water? I would unplug the heater and see what the temp moves to. I just had to unplug mine today.

My summers are warm as well and i pull the heater plug during this season. Even still my tank water reaches higher temps than I maintain during all other seasons.

The water issue should be considered a leak. I'd recommend taping paper towels or paper to each edge to see if something becomes wet. Also check for cracks. Do you have fish that could be splashing water from jumping???

Do you use an air pump? Somtimes when you turn it off, water will back-siphon out if the pump is below the waterline. Just a thought.

I have spawning Rainbowfish and they love to have a "mop" to lay their eggs on, which is just a ball of dark green yarn cut into lengths and tied and hung in the corner. If I don't make sure that the TIE end isn't up on top of the tank, the porous nature of the yarn turns the overhanging bit into a siphon and it will begin to drip, drip, drip. Do you have anything that is possibly creating this effect?
