I recently purchased a zoo rock with 30 polyps on it, a few of the polyps have opened, but most have not. There seems to be some red diatom algae on the polyps, and a turbo snail just started traversing the rock & polyps. Does this mean that some of the polyps are dead, or is this normal.

My tank is a 50 gallon corner ¼ cylinder, with 50 lbs LR & 4” DSB, 250 MH & I just added a Hydor Koralia 3 to the tank.

The polyps arent used to the lighting yet. Also watch the snail he possible could be eating/bothering the polyps.
