thanks for that. i feed my plec fish flakes and algae wafers but i am going to start giving him some veg. next time i am shopping i will make sure i pick up some romaine lattuce as well as some cucumber and courgette for him

Get Zucchini instead of cucumber, it last a lot longer and is easier to deal with. Cucumber seems to mush a little easier and makes a bigger mess.

ok then. ill go for the romaine lettuce and courguette (or zuchini as you call it ) and leave out the cucumber

You can give them a try, maybe you have some there that are better than the mushy ones I get localy. When I used them they always turned to mush unless I used Girkins as they are called which are only available for like 2 weeks localy.

If you find a cucumber that stays together really well please share that info here.

iceberg is a over bred plant that bears next to no relation to its origonal form its cellolose and water and turns into racid slime at the drop of a hat with little else Romaine contains much more and spinach even more i use the latter slightly crushed as pleco food
