Small Chip on Tank Causing Anxiety

Hi everyone,

I have a 125 gallon tank. I was taking one of the hoods off my tank and the handle slipped off. The result was the glass hood smacking against the tank and taking a chip off. The chip is 1/4" in diameter and about 1mm deep. It's been fine for one week, but I'm terrified the structural integrity of the tank might be compromised. Since then, I've filled in the chip with glass epoxy. It seems fine, but 125 gallons on my floor would be disastrous of course. I'd hate to shell out more $$$ for a new one. I need some experts to weigh in here. So what do you think, can this small chip lead to bigger problems?

call a windshield company and ask an see how much they would charge if they could come out and fill it. its kind of a weird idea but you never know worth a shot. also could look in to an aquarium repair company but they tend to be kind of expensive but they do warranty their work. if youre kind of a handy person look into replacing the piece of glass yourself. ive watched alot of youtube videos on how to build your own aquarium and it doesnt look like it would be very difficult.. i have a chipped aquarium but its at the top of the tank right by a seam and it hasnt gave me any problems but seeing as where yours is located id be worried. their is alot of pressure that far down in the tank.

Yes I thought about calling a windshield company. I didn't know there were companies specializing in aquarium repairs, I'm going to do a google and see if anyone's in my area.
