I just bought some plants for my 10g shrimp tank. I haven't put the plants in the sand yet but I did toss the moss ball in the tank. The shrimp are all over the moss ball. Will they eat it? I didn't even think of that when I bought it. I don't know if there just curious or hungry.

After I posted, I started to plant the tank and their attention was drawn to all the new plants. They seem to love the Wisteria so maybe they won't be so drawn to the Moss Ball now.

A better analogy would be they are grooming the moss ball and scavenging any debris or microorganisms they can find. I find snails will do the same.

they are grazing over the moss ball due to its high surface area trapping in lots of enzymes and biolife. Add mosses to provide more places for them to forage for food and something to do. a working shrimp is a happy one.
