Rasboras Stocking, 10 gallon

I want to stock my 10 gallon with Rasbora, but I don't want large Rasbora and I also want each of them to be a different variety, is that possible?

It's best if they're all one species, they won't shoal if they aren't all the same species and would still technically be alone.

Rasbora generally prefer softer water.

Have you considered Mosquito Rasbora?

I see. Wait, aren't they schooling fish?
As I understand it (someone correct me if I'm wrong!!) they're considered 'shoaling' as they break apart to explore the tank, so they aren't really glued to each other at all times. Schooling fish would be fish that 'hold ranks', so to speak, and all swim together. It's pretty much the same thing when stocking though, as they need groups of the same species for security.

That probably was more confusing than enlightening :S

Most fish wont stick to shoaling after becoming comfortable in the tank.
Shoaling is a defense against predators so without one the stay close to each other but its not in any order.

As for some fish to look at, microrasboras will work
Id stay with one species personally, more of one species brings more interesting behavior and better chances of breeding. The fish will also be more comfortable in one large school and be less shy

Chili Rasboras (boraras brigattae) are usually a favorite, they have nice colors and stay super tiny

If you want to look at other fish besides rasboras, you can look at galaxy pearl danio (danio margaritatus) or ember tetras (hyphessobrycon amandae)

Ive had the last two personally, both lovely fish
