Yes, depends on the Plant like Hair grass ,java Ferns, and Sword plants. They also like to dig themselves into the substrate on occasion and unlike MTS they are like bulldozers doing it.

that grows so fast I have to cut and get rid of 1/2 of it every 3-4 weeks. As long as they don't eat more than I throw away there would be no problem. BTW I have a tank with a surface area of 24''x12''. The plants cover that about 2-3'' deep.
No your floating plants will be fine. If they do eat some you will never even know.
