I have 2 tetras and a swordtail in a 12 gallon, and I'm thinking about getting one or two firebellied newts. My previous sword tails were biters, so I'm worried that this one might bite the newts. It has not attacked any other swordtails or tetras, but it may because it is a smaller swordtail and the tetras are faster.
I know someone who is a fish keeper and has several tanks, so I CAN always give them the swordtail and maybe the tetras. But I've grown attached to the 3, so I would rather keep them.
It's better safe that sorry, though. If you have ever kept a swordtail and Newt in the same tank with no problems, please say so. =)
