Ok, I know they are brackish fish but when I get them I'm sure they will have been kept in freshwater and I will be acclimating them. My question is about substrates. I know they need a pH buffering substrate like crushed coral but would a mix of gravel and oyster shell be ok? I like the look of darker sub. but want the buffering capability also. Thanks for any help.
Actually I mixed the two together and it looks rather well. The tank has an Eclipse III hood so there isn't an easy way to put it in the filtration. I am letting the tank cycle with some water from an established tank and we'll see what I can come up with. I have since been told that a pair of GSP's will quickly become too large for a 29g tank and I would be better off with figure 8's. Any advice?
Is that right? Spotted puffers get that big? The fish store person told me my spotted puffer would get a little bigger, but I didn't think it would get that big.?.? How big are we talking about? Right mow my puffer couldn't be more than 1.5" long.
