I went to h-depot today and got a whole bunch of pvc 90's, t's, ball valves, adapters' and such.
The thing is most of the stuff isent fitting rite.
I bougt a female thread/slip to go on the bulk head of my overflow bix and it is a bout a millimeter off. I even tried placing the slip-female in a bowl of boiling water and placing the bulkhead in a bowl of cold water then try and quickly thread them together but that dident work. DO you know y it doing this?
I also bough two ball valves to control the output of water through both returns, they both said 1/2 inch but they dont look compatible at all. The inside diameters are the same but i figured the pipe would just slip inside the the ball valve but there no way a 1/2 pipe would fit in it. Is there some type of coulpling that i need?
Then i bougt a 3/4 slip/male thread and its not even close to fiting on a 3/4 pipe.

good news! i found out what i did wrong. When you go to the pvc section there are two types of pvc Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 The difference is in size. One is beige and one is white. bige is smaller than the white.
This is good information for anyone doing a hard pumn job,learn from my ignorance.

I heard for every two 90's you have it will equal 1 foot of head pressure, is this rite?

wow i just got done plumbing my tank. I havent fired it up yet im waiting for the glue to dry, Im worried there gunna be a leak.

Did someone edit my post? Well sorry i dident know i couldent use that word.
And oh yes mike i fired that baby up today, man ive never been so proud. The duely outputs were gushing water in the tank faster than i could fire up that overflow, i almost had a spill, but i got the overflow going the water poured into the sump through the 1 1/4 inch pipe with a torent of bubles following. then i test drove my magnum 250 just to get the little bits of pvc out of the water. And there was no leaks
Im getin my skimer this week and lr in 2 weeks or so
Man i can wait to take some picks for you guys.(sorry havent gotten around to it yet.) My other freinds at grim reefers are proud of me .
