SO I was overlooking my fish this morning and one neon tetra has a protruding white lump. I ...fished him out (pun intended) took some pictures.
He has had for some time now, patches of faded color on his body, but this is the first time I noted the white chunk. He still eats, swims normally, I put him in that little container and the top of the white chunk broke off and looks like a solid white piece surrounded by white fuzz.
It somewhat looks like a squeezable zit. *gag*

Any advice, suggestions? Everyone else looks ok for now, changing water now.

30gal long, full planted, sand, params good and normal, ph 7.8

it's called ich or ick. sorry i don't know much about it i just happened to be looking through a marine begginers guide and that was a common disease/ infection. keep in mind i don't know much of it besides that it's called ich. "Most wild fish are exposed to low levels of this parasite but are able to effectively fight off the infection without becoming seriously ill. In contrast, due to a relatively small volume of water and a concentrated population of fish, the number of Cryptocaryon has the opportunity to explode in the home aquarium."(liveaquaria.com). just look it up and find out how to resolve this situation.
