So I have a tall 45 gallon tank I got a powerhead today for the bottom of my tank to move water. the top of the tank is moved by the flow off the filter. My question is there anything to worry about running this powerhead in my tank. Right now I only have 2 tetras in there but plan to setup a community tank, right now the two fish love it but will all the other fish like it?

The amount of filtration, including the extent of the water flow caused by that filtration, depends upon what fish you intend to maintain in the tank. And whether or not you want plants also has a bearing.

If the 2 tetras were neon tetras, and you intend acquiring more similar tetras, they do not need heavy filtration and they will be better in a very gentle water flow as they would have in their native habitat. Large fish produce more waste and generally speaking require stronger filtration to move the water so the waste can be trapped in the filter. And some species of fish come from faster-flowing streams and benefit from more water movement.

I mentioned plants; they do not do as well in tanks with stronger water flows because they are inhibited in their ability to absorb nutrients from the water. Plants vary a bit in this, but generally speaking the water flow in a planted aquarium should be minimal. But the selection of fish also has an impact on this as mentioned.
