Hey Everyone! We are pretty slow going at getting my daughters tank to fully cycle. Once we got the right testing kit (after losing all of the fish- turns out the snails actually survived so we have them in my sons well established tank) we found out that the nitrites were over 5ppm!! We have gotten it down to .5ppm (which is Waaay better) and 0 ammonia but I was wondering- we have several things of pothos ivy in our home- are those appropriate for a tank? Google tells me yes but Google also told me strips work for testing LOL. I was thinking of pulling a part of my pothos and cleaning the roots well and putting them in to help deal with the nitrites and nitrates (40ppm). What are your thoughts? If I can do this can I leave it in when we add fish?
