Hello there, kamo.I dont know what's wrong with my fish (pic attached) , can anyone tell if he's infected with sth and how to heal his sickness? (I have isolated him and added some salt into the tank). Thanks in advance. :-(
I have a few things to reference about this.Sorry for providing limited info as I'm a beginner (both for this forum and keeping fishes) and my fishes are simply living in a jar (as attached) that's bought from IKEA with no pump but plant with a peace lilies to provide them oxygen. There is no other decoration inside the jar.
The jar volume is about 1.8L (according to the info from IKEA) and I usually fill the jar with 1L water and change about 2/3 once a week.
Basically the water are tap freshwater (I would store the water in a bottle for couple days before filling into the jar) and the temp is around 18-20 degrees without heater.
There has 3 Gourami in the jar, one of them have already kept for 1.5 yrs (a male, I called him fish A) and the other 2 for 4 months (one male and one female, called them fish B and fish C) . They have been living together for 3 months without any problem except that sometimes this infected one (fish B) would hunt/ fight with the old one (fish A), and female one (fish C) would fight/ hunt the males (fish A and B).
Fish B (the one get sick now) was the most active and aggressive one but not as active these couple days, he used to actively fight the other fishes and the rest of them are trying to stay away from him. He looks upset after I moved him to another jar.
I just changed the water in a week ago (by that time I've already seen this abnormal thing (not as significant as now) and I thought it was just attaching with dirt accidentally) but this time I changed the water with some tap water directly (about 1/3) and another 1/3 with water that I stored a week ago.
I feed them with dry multi-nutrition food once/ twice a day. Cannot tell if there has any problem on his poop but his gills looks a bit dark today.
Someone said is the wound after fight and I've just bought a general aid medicine to see if it helps.
Thanks in advance and please see if the info is enough for your diagnosis. Thank you very much.
Happy to hear that your fish is better.Thank you very much for your help and advice. I tried the medicine this morning and surprisingly, the fungus was gone after 5 hrs!:-D
However, it looks like still got some fungus thing left (on the infected side) and the other healthy side seems start to infect with the same problem (looks like it's breaking apart) also donno why his face turns a bit dark....
Will observe him for another couple days and see if he will get better.
