Hi, I'm wanting to do a combination of live and artificial plants in my 46 gal bowfront. I was looking at one of the packs from Dr. F & S as linked below. The tank is a week old and just a few danios for cycling. My main question is what pack or individual plants will work for my tank? The tank will just be a community tank.

I also want to know specifically what additives I need for the plants to keep them healthy.

Thank you

You've got to figure out what kind of wattage you have in your light fixture and go from there. Either low light, moderate light, bright light.

If I were to guess, I'd say low light or moderate light plants. I'd start with some swords and crypts. Lights should be on 8-10 hours a day with full darkness at night.

Good luck :)

Welcome to Tropical Fish Keeping forum.:-D

As Romad said, we need to know your light specifics. And the GH (general hardness) and pH of your tap water. This you can get from the municipal water supply, they may have a website with water data posted.

Some minerals occur in the tap water, so once we know the GH, and your light, we will be able to suggest fertilizers and plants.
