I believe this plant is either a crypto or anubias of some sort, and I'll post a separate thread for this question to get more answers, but on the right side there is a grouping that isn't rooting in the substrate but growing out. Can I cut this "daughter colony" at the one root attaching it to the main plant, replant in another spot, and expect it to turn into it's own Mother colony?

Undulated crypto, I ordered it from liveaquaria I remember now, question still stands though can I cut that root and replant it and it will be okay?

Crypts hate to be moved so don't fret if they melt back a bit after dividing. They will come back just fine. I had some that melted all the way down to the roots and I thought they were a goner but it came back with a vengeance. Lol
