HELLO any nice people that help out(not in a mean way). SO I need some help with peacock eels. i need info since most sites say stuff that go against each other? The main things that really were similar are that they need sand usually fine(i have sand about salt sized). also that they stay under 12 inches. WHat sized tank do they need, water chemistry, and other species it could live with. Any help is appreciated! ;-)

i have had peacock eel's for 4 years, they dont need sand they do burrow tho. so make sure there are no rough edges in the tank, feed them with lights off since they seem to sniff out the food and not use eye's. this will also help lean them on to frozen foods light bloodworms. some people report having proublems with thier eels not eating. mine use to eat only a single blood worm a day for the longest time. as i could tell but they are very shy.

they only thing wrong with keeping one is they are a social fish and do better in pairs. i never had one alone so i could not tell you if they would have any serious effects but it might

ive had mine for a few wks and have never seen it eat once.`all the other fish go right to the food....it makes no attempts. is there anything else they will eat besides frozen blood worms? i think i would have a hard time getting that where im at. thought about keep one of those 2-3 day tablets in there once a week.

i have to wire drain stoppers that i clipped one side with a plastic zip tie and put blood worms in so they sick and slowly release so its already at the bottom and i feed the other fish first with flake food once that scent hits the water my eels come out bc they know its feeding time once a day two of those pop outs
