so i originally posted in the "ick" thread about a little white spot on my angel's fin...but the lady at the lfs said that if it looked like a grain of sand, it was ick, but if it looked "fuzzy" or "cottony" then it was a fungus...and it is definitely a "fuzzy-looking" spot...and she now has one on her other fin as well (the same fin on the other side of her body)...

anyways...someone said that i could treat with aquarium salt..1 tsp. per 5 gallons and raise temp, i am also treating with melafix sans my activated charcoal for 7 days, i am wondering do i add more salt every day? or is a one time treatment? i could never figure out how to do the salt thing...cuz how much am i supposed to add if there is evaporation?

any other advice or info on how to treat fungus would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Salt will only induce the fish body to secrete more slime for body protection, i would be wary of adding salt to a tank containing SA cichlids.
Ick will cause the fish to rub against your ornaments and so on, this looks more like fungus just starting how long have you had it. If you are using fungiside treat for ten gal on the first day, then half the dose for following days.
