Hello everyone! I am SO glad to have found this community, as this looks like an amazing forum! I just wish I had found it a year ago when I was getting started in the fishkeeping hobby. But I have learned alot, along the way....sadly, sometimes from my mistakes. But moving forward, I hope to learn a whole lot more from all of you.
I am a stay-at-home domestic engineer (aka housewife) and I never really thought much about owning an aquarium....my 3 dogs and 2 cats keep me busy enough. But, the Christmas before last, we got my mom a 15 gal setup and a giftcard for fish, thinking this would be a wonderful hobby for her. As it turned out, Mom really wasn't into it. Although we kept asking her when we could help her set it up, she kept putting it off for months. Anyway, my husband, daughter, and I wound up with it and I was the one that primarily dealt with it. I have grown to absolutely love the hobby and just cannot wait until I can make space to upgrade to a much larger setup...not sure what size yet. Currently, we just have this 15 gallon tetra tank. I started out with livebearers, mostly mollies and platys, but unfortunately, they just didn't do well in my tank.
I look forward to finding my way around this wonderful site and meeting new friends!
