Hello all. Just joined in and looking forward to learning new things. Although I have kept fish on and off for 40 years, I always say you can always teach an old dog new tricks. Right now I have a 55 gallon planted tank with a 22 year old, 18" Pleco named Big Boy. I also have a few tetras, a female betta, and 3 mollies (needed something for the hair algea). Oh, and 3 ottos. I have a 10 gallon planted tank with a male betta, 5 neon tetras, 2 cory cats, and 2 ottos. Both tanks seem to being doing well and fish seem happy. I am interested in getting a couple of cichlid tanks going (I will have to ease those in, as hubby can't understand what it is with me and fish!). I was never interested in cichlids, but now am. My first tank, when I was a little girl was a 10 gallon with creek fish. A few small minnows, a couple of baby brim and a small baby bass. The pond overflowed during a rain storm, and after the storm, I found them in the ditch, in a hole of water. That is what got me started! I kept them a few days, then put them back in the pond, but I was hooked!
