I'm new to planted aquariums but I think its going well so far only had plants for a little over a month and most everything survived and is doing well in the 5 gal shrimp tank. The 10 gal community tank lost some I think because the goldfish kept pulling them up and the snails would eat what they didn't so all the small thin plants didn't last sadly. The duckweed grows best I thin it to almost nothing at least once a week and feed to the goldfish they love it. Everything has new growth so I think I'm getting the hang of this.:) If you look close you can see a shrimp or two. Cant wait till they start breeding. Didnt picture the community as it still a work in progress.

It is always nice to hear of success.:-D

If you have goldfish, they will readily devour most plants, except for the very tough. Java Fern and Anubias might survive them. No stem plant will.

yeah they seem to leave the java ferns be and a realy thick stemed plant I think is wisteria and the pennywort which I leave floating but anchored to one side with the thermomater there are 3 stems that took hold and are doing well don't know what they are tho. really need more plants as I got all the person I bought them from had. but I want verity and thats seeming hard to find since my funds are very limited and I cant pay $10 for one small plant that may die because Im not entirely sure what Im doing. so it might take quite awhile before I get to finish oh well:roll:
