Hello, I recently purchased a 1.5 gallon neon tetra tank and three neon tetras. Shortly after my purchase as I was researching how to take care of my fish I realized my tank was much too small for my fish to live happily. I am going to purchase a 20 gallon and introduce at least 3 more neon tetras and maybe two dwarf guorami would that be too much for a tank of that size? Also if that is proper stocking could a pleco or chinese algae eater be added?

I think that 2 dwarf gouramis and 6 neon tetras will be good in a 20g aquarium. I heard chinese algae eaters get aggressive when they grow up and may hurt your fish. Also, common plecos will grow too big.

Also, if you haven't, read about the nitrogen cycle.

To stop a Chinese algae eater being aggressive you should feed it algae wafers. It keeps mine happy and healthy plus most my other fish enjoy the wafers too. Break them up before adding to the tank so they all get a share.
