I bought a 60 gal cichlid tank from a friend and it already had fish in it.
it has two jack Dempsey and two bumble bees I was told those fish don't normally go together but she has had then for about two years now. my main question is what other cichlids can I put with them one pet store told me only Africans one said south American so im a little confused and don't want to get the wrong kind of fish also my tank has rocks in it I was told sand is better can I have both or is it one or the other any help would be great

these are the fish my kiddos were wanting to get would any of these work in this tank
acei yellow tail
blue dolphin
yellow lab
cobalt zebra

so after reading threw post I see the zebra and yellow lab will cross breed so I gues that is out we also like rusty, saulosi and jewel cichlids
