hi,

i have just bought 2 angelfish, approx 6", yesterday, and they are not eating.

i am giving them pellets as recommeded but they are showing absolutely no interest.

the only other fish in the tank are 10 neon tetras, it is a 75 gallon tank up and running for approx 3 months, parameters are all fine, is it because they are not yet acclimatised to the tank?

the neons ate the same day of purchase.

Angels are finicky. I wouldn't worry about them not eating for the first 24-48 hours. Mine never ate at first after being added to my tank. I would try some flakes if you have them. I also feed freeze dried bloodworms and freeze dried tubifex worms. You can use frozen as well. They also love live brine shrimp. I would just offer a few different things but they should eat soon.

Don't worry. They will eat your neons first when they are hungry, then they will eat the pellets:roll:

Awwwe. I have 8 Black Neon Tetras in my tank with 5 Angels. The Angels chase each other more than the BNTs.

I am not sure how the 6'' was measured but they seem to be huge Angelfish. If a neon will fit in his mouth, that will be a healthy and expensive snack.

They are 6" from top of top fin to bottom fin (if thats what theyre called ;-) I was concerned they would eat the neons but they dont seem interested in them at all.

I don't know why everybody says that angels will eat neons. I have never had that happen. I have kept angels with neon and black neon tetras.

Angels are very nice fish. But they are cichlids, very territorials and when they are breeding...well, totally different attitude.
