Its New About Two Days Old
12/23/06

Live Stock:
2 Angles, 3 Tiger Bards, 1 Dwarf Gouramis, 1 Dragon Goby, and alot of live plants (too many to type out)

I had a ten gallon (with all the fish and plants that i currently have in the 55, talk about crowded) and simply place the fish in a bucket and dumped everything else in the 55, waited about an hour for it to clear up, took a deep breath hoping that the bacteria in the gravel/plants/filter media/ex...
would be inof the it to count as a cycle, and then added the fish. to my suprise the next morning i checked my water quility and every thing was perfect and stayed perfect (i check it like 3x a day), amonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 0 ph 8.3
ps: I wouldn't recommend doing it this way, becouase the only reason it worked for me was becouse i had a huge huge huge bioload and my tank was stable for about 5yrs and about 50 different type of plants, but (and thats a big but) if you must... make sure not to expose the gravel/plants/filter media/ex... to air as this kills the good bacteria and will restart your cycle

Hmmmm It seems that your Nitrate is 0. You want your nitrate anywhere under 40. So that means its not truly done cycling yet because the ammonia has turned into nitrite, but there isnt enough "umph" for it to go into nitrate yet. So I would just monitor really closely and watch the behavior of your fish...But great looking tank would Love to see some close ups and bigger pics. Good Job :D

Nice looking tank!

I'm sure the fish are happy too! :)
i'm sure they are happy the first thing they did was they all schooled together and swan from tip to tip for like an hour and then they freaked out and started ramming into the glass but 5 minuets later they settled down and resumed normal activitly.
