Its New About Two Days Old
12/23/06
Live Stock:
2 Angles, 3 Tiger Bards, 1 Dwarf Gouramis, 1 Dragon Goby, and alot of live plants (too many to type out)
I had a ten gallon (with all the fish and plants that i currently have in the 55, talk about crowded) and simply place the fish in a bucket and dumped everything else in the 55, waited about an hour for it to clear up, took a deep breath hoping that the bacteria in the gravel/plants/filter media/ex...
would be inof the it to count as a cycle, and then added the fish. to my suprise the next morning i checked my water quility and every thing was perfect and stayed perfect (i check it like 3x a day), amonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 0 ph 8.3
ps: I wouldn't recommend doing it this way, becouase the only reason it worked for me was becouse i had a huge huge huge bioload and my tank was stable for about 5yrs and about 50 different type of plants, but (and thats a big but) if you must... make sure not to expose the gravel/plants/filter media/ex... to air as this kills the good bacteria and will restart your cycle
